ABOUT ME

Here is a bit about Bryant Kim, a menswear designer, who moved to New York from Los Angeles. I came to New York in 2016 after graduating from Otis College of Art and Design majoring in Fashion Design. I got a chance to work in New York right off the college. During Junior year, I got to intern at John Varvatos which brought me to New York for the first time. Even if it was 3months living out in New York, I immediately knew New York was the right place for me to be.

I started My career at Sean John, a menswear brand founded by Sean Comb. I obtained great experiences by working with different designers with different experiences. I started as an assistant denim designer and grew as a woven designer. I was able to work with graphic and knit designers during assistant level which gave me an opportunity to expand my knowledge to all categories. My responsibility was to manage denim and woven from start to finish. Even with the Associate Design title, I had a chance to work more as a Senior. Unfortunately, I was let go due to Pandemic and got a chance to start a new chapter with ERRORNYC.

Working at ERRORNYC opened me up to the opposite side of the industry. ERRORNYC had an aesthetic of elevated streetwear whereas my previous experience was focused on urban streetwear. Since it was a small team, it allowed me to work closely with Models, Influencers, and editors. we took the opportunity to use our ability as a designer to support social causes such as BLM. Moving forward I took the opportunity to learn Photography.

I’ve always strived to gain skills in Photography because the designer I admire growing up was Hedi Slimane. I believed that knowing Photography would expand the ways of presenting my designs as how Hedi Slimane did with his work. I was able to expand my career as a Photographer for a year as I reach out to different talents.

It is my passion to master skills that brings me to the next level as a designer. I always seek for great opportunities ahead and look forward to collaborate.
